This album of sixty costumes of court people and different subjects of the Ottoman Empire was originally drawn by Octavien Dalvimart ca 1798. It was published in London in 1802 in color with English and French captions. The new edition is extended with Turkish translation along with the original texts and drawings and it is loyal to the original except for the extended text.
The album is a must for history lovers as well as a source for researchers. It depicts the last decade of the classical heritage of the Ottoman Empire on the eve of strong modernization and Westernization of the early nineteenth century.
